Trip 1351 NOV 9, Speedy Road Double Falls and return, Tawarau Forest, Waitomo /Grade A

Drive 2hrs to start of track at the end of Speedies Rd, off Te Anga Road Waitomo.

Walk through farmland and native forest following the Tawarau river along the Gorge track until a track junction.

After crossing the bridge the Tawarau/Double Falls track crosses plantation forest and ends with a steep descent at the beautiful Double Falls.

We'll have lunch here and explore the interesting limestone area a little.

Then retrace our steps back to the carpark. All in all 6 hrs. return.

Just around the corner, on the way back to Hamilton, we can stop for a little side trip to the Marokopa Falls.
