Trip 1327 FEB23  Southern Hapuakohe (Grade A)

The Hapuakohe Range runs North-South from Firth Of Thames to Te Hoe and is split by the Ohinewai Road. The ridge is bush and forest clad but in places along the track gives magnificent views overlooking bush, farm and swamp-lands of the Hauraki Plains and the Waikato. We plan to walk on the Southern track starting at Ohinewai Road and will have a couple of modest peaks above 500m to climb. The tramp requires reasonable fitness and is estimated to be of about 6 hours duration. Hopefully we can get a good group keen to join and make this an interesting and enjoyable tramp.

We plan to depart from Mill Lane at 7.30am Sunday
