Bookings open 1 month before and close on Monday evenings before the tramp date unless noted otherwise. Book online or phone the leader or co--leader. For trips with multiple grades indicated choose/state your preferred option.

 
Late cancellation may incur a cancellation fee. Unless reasons are compelling pulling out of a trip at the last minute is unfair and should be avoided.

 

 

TRAMP 1266: APRIL 16, DAY WALK RAGLAN

Enjoy a bus ride, brunch in Raglan and a 4-5 hour walk.  We shall follow myself and Jane Tan's original recci day - we will catch the Raglan bus via Whatawhata Road bus stop.  We need to be there waiting at the bus stop for 10.15 am pick-up - have your Bee card ready, loaded with $16-$20 (or correct cash) for a bus ride to Raglan (and returning 4.30 pm from Bow Street bus stop outside Raglan Library).  Alternatively the Raglan bus leaves Platform E from the Hamilton Bus Transport Centre 10 am.

 

On arrival we will go for Brunch at The Shack.  We will set off for a walk along the beach (tide is low 1.15 pm) about 1-2 km and then turn off via Riria Kereopa Memorial Drive and take a short cut via Riria Kereopa Memorial Drive to Te Ara Kakariki Mountain Bike Park where we shall enjoy lovely views over the beach/sea.  Eventually we stumble onto the Wainui Reserve Bush Park where we shall walk through to get to Wainui Road and loop back towards Raglan town.  After we cross the car bridge, we will turn right and follow the Kaitoke Walkway which is a lovely walk overlooking Kaitoke Bay.  We need to keep a lookout for East Street which will get us back to Main Street (turn left) and then onto Bow Street  where we shall wait eating ice cream before the bus ride back to Hamilton.
