Trip 1312  :  NEW DESTINATION/ Whitford/ Beachlands Coastal Exploration :  25 August 2024 (Grade A)

"This replaces the earlier posted Hunua Tramp

Wendy and I have agreed  we should offer an A grade coastal tramp in the Whitford- Beachlands area including Omana Regional Park and Maraetai. This is Wendy's backyard.  Our plan is to take a group in a van and head to the Clifton Road area near Whitford to start the walk there. There will be coastal scenery of sea/estuary/harbour views and farmland on paths, horse trails and short sections of road. Sturdy sports shoes and tramping boots are both suitable footwear. We expect to be about 4 hours in the Whitford area, then move the van for a short distance and walk for maybe 1 1/2 hours in the Maraetai Beach area and finish with coffee and icecream of course.
