Join us on our annual Fungi Frolic in the woods. A chance to get up close and photograph some of natures little wonders 🍄

Update & Details
We plan to meet usual place – Mill Lane – 8 am prompt! It will take less than an hour to get to our starting point. We set off on the Te Tapui Track – it is a loop track, and we will be taking the longer route up to Maungakawa Lookout (lovely views at the top). The track takes us up a gradual incline, with a couple of grunts to get to the top. We plan to have lunch there and then make our way down the faster route back to the van. We are on the hunt for fungi, brown, yellow, orange, white, red, hopefully the elusive blue fungi – so there is no rush today.
Not a long day – we should be back at the vehicles within 4 hours. On the way back, we will pop into Matangi to have a beer or mulled wine or coffee +/- pizza and some free entertainment - so bring your cards or cash.
Weather forecast at this stage, 7 mls of rain overnight, sunny during the day – this will change of course. As mentioned – its not a long walk – we don’t plan on cancelling if we can help it!
What to bring: Warm clothes to leave in the van just in case it does get wet. Raincoat, lunch, water, walking poles and good shoes/boots with grip (might be muddy).
Cost: $25 pp – cash please – because we may take cars not the van.
